Russian club grab Falconets stars

Rossiyanka of Russia have signed
Falconets stars Desire Oparanozie and
Francisca Ordega on the back of the
recent U20 Women’s World Cup.
“We are happy and excited to have
signed a contract with FC Rossiyanka
of Moscow,” Oparanozie told
MTNFootball.com
Both players have already joined the
defending women’s champions of
Russia, who have won the league four
times and the cup five times.
Rossiyanka are a regular feature in
the Champions League, where they
have reached the quarterfinals in 2008
and 2012.
Ordega was earlier speculated to have
joined a Swedish club, a story she
later denied, while Oparanozie was
some time ago linked with a move to
Turkey.
Both players scored goals to propel
the Falconets to the semi-final of the
U20 Women’s World Cup in Japan
recently.
They also disclosed that they plan to
soon join up with the Super Falcons
training camp in Abuja ahead of the
Africa Women’s Championship in
Equatorial Guinea. “We will rejoin the
Falcons in their Abuja for the AWC
camp before the tournament,”
promised Ordega.
