Arsenal are facing a goalkeeper crisis
following news that second choice
Lukasz Fabianksi could be sidelined
for three months with ligament
damage.
The Polish goalkeeper has been out
since February with shoulder
problems and was hoping for a recall
to the squad before rupturing ankle
ligaments in training on Tuesday.
First choice Wojciech Szczesny is
recovering from his own ankle injury
and is still three weeks away from
regaining fitness.
Vito Mannone, who started this
season as third choice will continue to
deputise in goal - with Argentinian
Damian Martinez, 20, and James Shea,
21, in reserve.
Arsene Wenger's team face a hectic
fixture list in the coming weeks with a
trip to Norwich on Saturday followed
by a midweek Champions League tie
against Schalke before London
derbies against Tottenham and
Fulham.
Meanwhile, Jack Wilshere has taken
another big step towards ending his
injury nightmare by playing the full 90
minutes in a friendly against Chelsea.
