Former Arsenal star Nwankwo Kanu
expressed his delight after Nigeria
qualified for the 2013 Africa Cup of
Nations.
Kanu was present at the U.J Esuene
Stadium where the Super Eagles
thrashed Liberia 6-1 to book their
place in next year's tournament in
South Africa.
The former Ajax and Inter striker
revealed he was thrilled to have
watched his side's victory in person,
particularly after they narrowly missed
out on a spot in the previous finals.
The 36-year-old told Goal.com : "It is
an honour to witness this match.
"It was an emphatic win and I will
advise all those that made the ticket to
the Nations Cup not to relax until the
Eagles make a meaningful impact at
the tournament, and also grab a
World Cup slot too."
Kanu made 87 appearances for the
Nigeria national side, and was part of
the team which finished as runners-
up in the tournament in 2000. He is
currently without a club after leaving
Portsmouth earlier this year.
