Swansea 2-2 Reading

Reading let a first Premier League win
slip from their grasp as two late
Swansea goals rescued a 2-2 draw at
the Liberty Stadium.
The Royals led 2-0 at the break
courtesy of goals from Pavel
Pogrebnyak and Noel Hunt, but Alex
McCarthy's fine goalkeeping display
was in vain as Wayne Routledge sealed
the Swans rally.
Swansea spurned a decent early
chance when Ashley Williams headed
wide from six yards and Reading
received another reprieve as McCarthy
tipped over Danny Graham's header.
The home side appealed in vain for a
penalty when Adrian Mariappa
appeared to handle, but the Royals
struck with their first attack of note as
Pogrebnyak's (31) clever turn and shot
squirmed under Michel Vorm.
Swansea were suddenly deflated and
they were dealt another blow before
the break when Hunt (44) seized on a
loose ball and sent a sweetly struck
volley into the net.
Half-time substitute Luke Moore nearly
made an instant impact for the hosts
as his shot was clawed away by
McCarthy and the Royals keeper again
denied the striker, pushing his header
onto the post.
McCarthy continued to hold the Swans
at bay, pushing out Williams' close-
range header, but he was beaten in
the 71st minute as the predatory
Michu nodded in from a few yards out.
Reading were reeling and Routledge
(78) swopped passes with Moore
before slotting home, but the visitors
nearly snatched a later winner as
Williams cleared Jem Karacan's header
off the line.
